DESCRIPTION: Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., "940", 18 size, 21 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted to 5 positions, isochronism and temperature, ornately damascened nickel plate movement, with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and micrometric regulator, in a yellow gold filled, hinged back and bezel, open face case, with monogram engraved on back cover and name engraved on cuvette, "H.J. Mooney 1915", with Arabic numeral, outer red 5-minute markers, double sunk white enamel dial, blued steel spade hands, serial #998316, c1915
CONDITION: CASE: Not original to the movement; Dings and pin pricks; Scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on inner surface of case; Gold filled with minor brassing; Minor scratches on crystal; Crown worn. DIAL: Very good. HANDS: Minor scratches on hour. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Regulator spring with minor oxide; Small spot of corrosion and plating loss on barrel bridge. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks).
